As 2023 draws to a close, we would like to express our gratitude to all of our clients, candidates, and contractors for their continued support. We would also like to take a moment to reflect on the achievements and milestones within the business.
2023 has been a year of team investment, with internal promotions creating opportunities to add new talent to Global Highland. This includes our new Managing Director, Grant Falconer, who joined us in April. It has been refreshing to witness new recruiters join the team and embrace the field of recruitment. Additionally, experienced professionals have come on board to balance our team dynamic.
We explored new markets and regions, and in November, after a rigorous application process, we were thrilled to receive a Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority license - so stay tuned in 2024 as we continue our growth! Throughout the year, we've also invested in technology such as AI and digitised many of our processes, reducing our paper usage to help protect the environment.
Fostering a spirit of sportsmanship within our community, we've supported local talent, including the sponsorship of Marc MacDonald at Nairn St Ninian JFC, and George Stewart of Inverness, who was recently crowned the Scottish Champion!
We also sponsored a hole at the Robertson and Friends 'Kilts & Clubs' Charity Golf Day back in June—an event aimed at raising funds for MFR Cash for Kids and Logan's Fund. Moreover, we participated in, and emerged as the winners, of an internal football tournament, donating funds to Mikey Lines.
In line with our commitment to recognising and celebrating outstanding team members, we introduced a monthly 'Temp of the Month' scheme. And last but certainly not least, to raise awareness of mental health among our colleagues, clients, and candidates, and to further our efforts in eliminating stigma, we expanded our Mental Health First Aider team.
