    Previous work experience/ Career path?

    I started my career as a PA for a blue-chip company in London then relocated to the Highlands in 1988 where I worked in HR within the public sector for over 3 years. I then spent 5 years self-employed, supporting my partner in our photography business with admin, accounts and customer relations.

    My career in recruitment began in 1996 and in 2000 the company I worked for was acquired by Global Highland, where I’ve worked ever since undertaking a variety of roles including Recruitment Specialist, Senior Business Support Administrator, Office Manager and currently Business Support Lead.

    Why do you work in recruitment and what is one thing you love about your role?

    Because it involves working closely with people at all levels and from all sorts of different backgrounds every single working day, whether it be colleagues, candidates looking for their next career move or clients to support their recruitment needs.

    I love the fact that every day is different – the work is fast-paced, interesting and you’re always learning something new which, in turn, means you’re always developing your own knowledge and skills.

    What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any Personal Goals that you are hoping to achieve in the next 5 years?

    I love walking and keeping fit, listening to a wide range of music genres, reading, and guilty of binge-watching box sets on occasion (crime fiction is a favourite!). I also do cross-stitch when I get the time and love travelling.

    In the next 5 years, personally I’d like to have visited a few more European countries (COVID and climate allowing). Professionally, I look forward to continuing my journey with the ever-evolving Global group, and to have helped train new recruits to our growing team in Global Highland.
