Our client based in Invergordon has an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safet Advisor - this is a full time temporary position, minimum of 3 months.
The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Company’s HSE Policies, strategies and objectives in Invergordon. Based within the quality and sustainability department.
Assisting and supporting Managers and team leaders to develop and review Risk Assessments and SOP’s, investigating accidents and incidents as they occur. Supporting the security team to ensure that best practices are implemented, monitored and recorded in accordance with HMRC regulations whilst also ensuring our H&S performance is adhered to and continually improved upon.
Resposibilites
- Day to day support of H&S programmes on site, including Zero Harm, delivery of training, accident/incident investigation, conducting risk assessments, as well as developing and maintaining H&S documentation.
- Support the implementation of the H&S goals for the client.
- Ensuring H&S inspections and Audits are completed for weekly call points/ fire alarm checks and on a monthly basis for fire extinguisher checks and emergency lighting checks.
- Assist management and operating teams to ensure compliance with company requirements and government regulations.
- Conduct, review and update H&S Risk Assessments.
- Identify areas that do not have risk assessments in place and carry out the assessments.
- Assist the H&S Manager to develop policy and procedure.
- Monitor practices, audit and develop procedures throughout the site within Health & Safety Guidelines.
- Create H&S Related toolbox talks.
- H&S Committee member.
- Assist with investigation of incidents.
- Assist with root cause analysis of incidents.
- Ensure all accident records and near miss reports are added to Q-Pulse
- Monitoring and enforcing site rules, PEEP/GEEP’s, staff guides and contractor guides– PPE, Speed limits, walkways etc.
- Carry out Internal Audits as required.
- Compile and provide reports including supporting the development of statistics, targets and objectives as required.
- Conduct evacuation drills and compile reports, followed by feedback/lessons learned session with staff.
- Help develop and improve Contractor management.
- Monitor and control contractors working on projects on a day-to-day basis.
- Work with the H&S and Security Team and other key stakeholders to develop a SOP format for use our client.
- Review the existing SOPs against the actual tasks preformed and update as required onto the agreed format.
- Identify areas that do not have an SOP and create detailed procedures.
- Assist with the development of the Safety Improvement Record Card (SIRC) system.
- On-Site Emergency plan authorised person.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH general Certificate or equivalent is essential, NEBOSH Diploma is desirable
- Tech IOSH essential, Grad IOSH is desirable
- Previous H&S advisor experience
