Description

Our client a leader in the engineering and environmental consultancy industry, currently looking for a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to join their growing team. Having recently been acquired into a larger portfolio of businesses and with their expanding project portfolio means you’ll play a critical role in a range of exciting projects, largely within the process, manufacturing & energy industries. The role will not be limited to temporary works, but it will also involve extensive involvement in the design and assessment of process related structures, primarily in a high hazard environment.

With roots stemming from projects in Chemicals, Industrial Manufacturing and Onshore Renewables.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience in preparing complex temporary works designs for groundworks, formwork & falsework and/or propping and jacking scheme
• Check medium to high complexity drawings and design in accordance with relevant standards
• Review design briefs provided by the engineering team and provide advice on the appropriate temporary works methodologies
• Have 6 to 7 years of experience in temporary works design
• Have the ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
• Be a chartered engineer (or working towards it)
• Be able to attend site meetings where required and have a full driving licence.
• Ideally have some demolition experience

• Scaffold design checks
• Edge protection designs/checks
• Crane/Piling platform designs
• Access road design and assessment
• Site accommodation foundation design
• Traditional/Proprietary Formwork designs/checks
• Design of steel and concrete structures/connections
• Propping and Needle designs
• Vibration assessments
• Bridge assessments
• Permanent design checks
• Gabion basket walls
